Testes
This is where the sperm are made by meiosis.
Epididymis
A coiled tube which stores sperm
Scrotum
a bag which contains the testes and hangs below the abdomen. This is because the sperm need to be produced and stored at a temperature just below normal body temperature.
Sperm duct (vas defrens)
a tube which carries the sperm from the epididymis to the prostate gland.
Prostate gland & Seminal Vesicle
glands which produce fluid which nourishes the sperm and when mixed with sperm forms semen.
Urethra
a tube which carries either urine or semen (not both at the same time) through the penis.
Penis
for placing sperm at the end of the vagina in the female.
Erectile tissue
spongy tissue which when filled with blood swells up making the penis hard and erect.

Vulva
Outer folds of skin which surround the opening to the vagina.
Vagina
a stretchy tube where the penis is inserted during intercourse and where the semen is deposited.
Cervix
the neck of the womb.
Uterus (womb)
muscular organ where the baby develops during pregnancy.
Fallopian tube (Oviduct)
a delicate tube which helps transport the ovum from the ovary to the uterus. It is here that the ovum is fertilised.
Ovary
Where the eggs are produced.
